After a provisional approval of the town planning project by Mijas Town Hall in May of last year, the Provincial Delegation of Public Works in Malaga issued a report requesting further documentation. On this request, the developers responded by sending documents that proved insufficient, under the circumstances. On the 10th January 2005 the delegation demanded the same information as had been requested in the first report.
According to one of the experts within the subdelegation, the request for these documents is a normal step in the process in order to correct faults/deficiencies and never have the Public Works Committee refused the initial plans of a project. The licence should have been passed at the beginning of January, since there was nothing out of the ordinary with the file.
These events do not correspond with the information given by Promoplaza Fuengirola S.L. in a report sent out to the purchasers of Calanova Palm Golf, in which they stated that due to the rejection of planning permission by the Junta of Andalucia, they will be cancelling the project.
From this report, we can deduce that the current situation is being caused by Promoplaza Fuengirola S.L., who seem to be intentionally avoiding having their their planning permission approved so that they can cancel the purchase and reservations contracts for Calanova Palm Golf.
We hope this has nothing to do with the spectacularly increased property value in the area in which Calanova Palm Golf is situated, in that the value of the apartments nowadays is much higher than when this development was put onto the market some years ago.
