The demonstrations and protests by ecological groups and associations in the Valle del Rosario area have not had any effects on the granting of licences for this project.
According to research carried out by Devwatch, the Town Hall has in fact granted the urbanization licence to begin ground works. However, approval of the building licence is still dependent on a report due to be issued by the Hydrographic Confederation of Southern Spain.
Previous reports issued by the Provincial Delegation of the Environment gave the green light to the development. However due to the magnitude of the proposed golf course and the amount of water it will require, it is vital that the Hydrographic Confederation examines the feasibility of the project.
In short, until this organisation has given their verdict, the main licence to carry out the works cannot be granted and therefore the construction of this development is subject to this decision. Devwatch will follow up on this issue until the verdict has been announced and we will keep those interested in the outcome informed.
