On the 21st July, the group “Ecologistas en Acción” lodged an appeal against an agreement made between the “Junta de Gobierno” and Aifos, in which the planning permission for the complex VALLE DEL ROSARIO GOLF was approved.
According to the group, the project breaks various rules laid down by the Provincial Delegation for the Environment as well as the town planning laws of Villanueva del Rosario. These infractions invalidate the agreement and also the licence that has been granted. The complex, which is promoted by Aifos and Grupo Mirador, consists of 1.000 apartments, a hotel, a commercial zone and other facilities.
Already 70% of the properties in phase one are sold. Surprisingly, this is the part of the project that has in fact been approved by the Junta de Andalucía.
At the moment, the construction of the golf course is not feasible and as for the other part (the apartments), they are awaiting a response from the local government who are in charge of accepting or rejecting the appeal. The legitimacy of the licence obtained by Aifos will be disputed if the appeal is accepted.
