The CHS rejects development proposal for Rincón de la Victoria because it will be situated beside a stream

- 2004-06-16

The City Council considers the Confederation’s stance as illogical and arbitrary. The CHS has determined that the construction of 150 apartments in Rincón de la Victoria would be carried out approximately eighty metres from the stream in Benagalbon. Throughout a report, the CHS give their approval of this development but they require adjustments which, according to Town Planning Councillor Francisco Salado, are impossible. The Mayor believes the conditions they are laying down are uncertain and without basis.

According to Salado, the CHS are also insisting on other adjustments that are proving to be impossible to carry out. He also pointed out that an idyllic town cannot be built underneath the dual carriageway in Rincón since there would have to be several expropriations.

To be more exact, this is a development by the real estate company AIFOS. This company has already sold close to 150 apartments out of the six buildings that are envisaged for this plot of land before being granted planning permission. The plans have already received ten complaints over breaches of contract according to Elena Narvaez- chairperson of AUSMIN (Association of the Real Estate Market).

At the end of February, AUSMIN denounced AIFOS for selling property without having planning permission. On that occasion, AUSMIN pointed out that there has been seven developments in the area and buyers have paid up to 90,000 for each apartment, all of which had no planning permission beforehand.
