The singer Julio Iglesias will play his first ever private concert in Marbella next Friday, 20th August. This will also be his one and only performance this summer in Spain.
More than 30,000 watts of sound, 200,000 watts of light and 200 square metres of stage will constitute his first ever private show. The aim of the concert is to promote 640 luxury apartments, a development called Señorío de Guadaiza, which will be sponsored by the singer. It will be situated in Nueva Andalucía and built by AIFOS property development company.
2,500 people are expected to turn up at the concert, which is going to be held on the land where the luxury homes will be built. The show will be preceeded by a dinner for the guests who will come from all walks of life – economic, social and political – of Spain.
Iglesias believes the promotion is very important and thinks that if an artist collaborates with a company, the most important thing is for it to be successful.
The singer joked about the money he received for being the face of AIFOS and said that they paid well but it was not enough to accept an offer. He confirmed that he would sing mainly Spanish songs to please the crowd such as “La vida sigue igual” and “Me olvidé de vivir”.
Regarding the project, he was a little more brief. “I have tried all my life to be associated with success. I love risks and I love companies that take risks”. He also believes this project will be good for the country.
The managing director of AIFOS, Genaro Briales, was full of praise for the world famous Spanish artist. “It is an honour that Julio Iglesias is the face of our company. We are proud, not only for ourselves but also for Marbella”.
Antonio Sanchez is town councillor for Rincón de la Victoria.
