Owners of apartments in the development “El Soto de Marbella” are being expected to pay a sum of €392 for one month’s community charge. They were quoted approximately €100 per month two years ago and although one would normally predict a slight increase of maybe €20 or €30 over the years, one would not expect the original quote to quadruple.
Moreover, this amount is supposed to be payment for the upkeep of the communal areas – the communal areas they refer to, such as swimming pools and gardens, are not even finished.
The developers Mena Group have imposed these exorbitant charges on the owners without so much as a consultation. Legal action is currently being considered.
