San Pedro And Puerto Banús Top The Scales In Town Planning Illegalities

Devwatch - 2004-12-03

The majority of town planning illegalities committed in the past few years in Marbella have been in San Pedro de Alcántara and Puerto Banús. In the case of San Pedro, a developer is carrying out the construction of buildings in one of the most central areas, on the intersection between the national motorway and the road to the beach.

This building is called “Señorío de Guadalmina” and has no licence. The property developing company OSUNA wants to build six high-rise buildings (of at least five storeys) even though the PGOU of 1986 only allows for three storeys at the most. The case number of this construction is 214/00 and it is located in the URP-SP-10 AREA. The developers bought land from various owners until they had a total of 144,000 square metres to build hundreds of apartments.

The town planning authorities are aware of the fact that the company holds no licence to build but they are sure nothing can be done without a political decision being made or a direct intervention from the government to terminate works.
