Here we are another 4 months on and still no information on this development. I have spoken to the agents (again) and they say there is activity on the site but that could mean anything! Can anyone update me on this please? Feedback would be useful.

Dear Dave,
In situations like this when you are requesting a refund, and not receiving a response, there are several ways to do this more effectively than simply writing a letter or an email. The best alternative would be to contact your own independent lawyer and have them formally request the refund of your funds on your behalf. This would of course cost you a bit of money, but if the speed of your refund is of importance to you, then this is likely your best move. Another alternative is to send them a registered letter requesting the refund. If you have recorded proof that they have received the letter, this type of information can be used in court (should it ever go to court) that they received your request on said date. (This can be relevant with regards to any interest payments). Additionally, pestering via phone can often prove very effective. Finding the name of the individual responsible can often be done through simply contacting the receptionist, then phoning 3 or 4 times a day until they eventually get fed up with the calls and transfer you through. Sadly, in so many cases, those who resort to (what they would see as 'annoyance') these types of actions are the only ones that receive a response! |

Dear Dave,
I'm afraid I am not a lawyer, so I wouldn't know for certain. From what I have read though, I believe it may be possible for some kind of action against each, but that you would need to prioritise, starting by whomever you actually gave the deposit to in the first place. And "action" should only be initiated if you have not had any response from the initial request for your refund. Last edited by Eric : 02-12-2007 at 03:53 PM. |
